2019 年 8 月 24 日，颶風多利安（Dorian）於大西洋中部形成，
穿越巴巴多斯群島（island of Barbados），
進入加勒比海，經美屬維京群島重返大西洋海域，

颶風多利安的路線掠過巴哈馬西北部，吹襲美國東岸，
佛羅里達州（Florida）、喬治亞州（Georgia）、
南卡羅萊納州（South Carolina）、北卡羅萊納州（North Carolina），
四個州份均進入緊急狀態。
9 月 1 日當日，美國國家海洋及大氣總署（NOAA）
更派出「颶風獵人」團隊，
駕駛飛機闖入多利安的風眼，錄得一段罕有的直擊影片。
一開始，飛機須穿過厚厚雲層，期間能見度極低，
只能看見部分機身及淺灰色雲層，
其後，越過雲層，到達風眼中心，天空瞬間變藍，
可以看見陽光，十分平靜。
網民指團隊能夠完成這項任務，實在非常瘋狂。
美國國家颶風中心警告：
這場災難性颶風的風眼牆，攜帶摧毀性風暴，
即將襲擊阿巴科群島，接著就是大巴哈馬島（Grand Bahama），
5 級颶風是最危險級別，可以破壞建築物，甚至將整個區域夷為平地。
9 月 1 日下午 5 時，美國本土東南沿海部分地區開始列入颶風警告範圍，
奧蘭多墨爾本國際機場，及勞德代爾堡─好萊塢國際機場宣佈：
9 月 2 日中午後停止商業航班起降，美國本土已有 770 個航班取消，
單單美國東南沿海四個州份，合計已超過 100 萬人撤離。
多利安通過巴多斯群島時，接近風暴範圍的測站，
普遍測得 0.5 至 1.5 英寸雨量，約 40 毫米雨量，
細小的馬提尼克島更測得 4.1 英寸雨量，
約 104 毫米雨量，強風令許多電線桿和樹木倒塌。
隨後，多利安通過波多黎各東面的美屬維京群島，
降雨量普遍 4 至 6 英寸，最多達 10 英寸，
沒錯！是 10 英寸，相當於 254 毫米的驚人降雨量。
