8 月 26 日，一個低氣壓在加勒比海西南部生成，
國家颶風中心將其升格為熱帶低氣壓，給予熱帶氣旋編號 09L。
8 月 27 日，將其升格為熱帶風暴，並命名為颶風艾達(Hurricane Ida)， 是 2021 年大西洋颶風季第九個被命名的風暴，
亦是今年第二個大型颶風。

令整個紐約市出現有如「鄭州水災」一樣的慘況，

8 月 22 日，鄭州市迎來新一輪暴雨，
市氣象台發佈暴雨紅色預警信號，同時安排 23 萬人緊急撤離。
暴雨期間，有市民目擊市內河道水位，於兩小時內升至接近行人道，
部份路段已水浸及膝。 市城防辦緊急通知，要求 67 座橋樑隧道，
與 23 座小型鐵路橋實施交通管制。
氣象台中午時預計，市區等地 3 小時內將錄得 100 毫米以上雨量，
並有雷暴等強對流天氣。
鑑於上月暴雨曾造成嚴重傷亡，鄭州市內各處嚴陣以待，
曾出現傷亡的京廣路隧道淮河路段，亦已實施交通管制及封閉隧道。
雖然，各車主已預先將車輛停泊在高處停車場、高架橋等地，
防止被淹浸及沖走。
但從多地民眾上載的片段可見，仍有不少車輛被浸。
至於曾出現雨水倒灌，造成多人遇難的鄭州地鐵 5 號線，
至今尚未恢復正常運作，路面出口亦已拉閘封閉。

由於當局事先實施交通管制，公交停運，京廣路隧道淮河路段封閉，

河南上月暴雨引發的水災，造成超過 300 人死亡，
外界關注新一輪強降雨會否再次引發嚴重災情。
中央氣象台首席預報員張濤，預計河南今次的降雨量不會特別極端，
但由於上月災情的影響未完全消退，而今次降雨範圍，
與上次部分受災地區重疊， 加上還會伴隨強風，
認為仍然有可能為河南帶來非常大及不利的影響。
為應對新一輪暴雨，鄭州許多社區及大小商戶也提早做了防汛準備，
有市民將自家車輛從地庫移到平地，部份則用維修汽車的千斤頂及磚頭，
將汽車墊高， 或是直接停在高架橋等地勢較高處。
對此，鄭州交警回應， 假如車輛因應急防汛而臨時停在道路、
高架橋等地方，不會被當作違章處理，
但提醒廣大市民停放車輛時，盡可能不要影響道路通行，
當暴雨過後，亦要及時將車輛轉移到不阻礙交通的位置。
因此，鄭州不少小區地下車庫已經清空，反之高架橋卻變成了停車場，
形成鮮明對比。
8 月 29 日，鄭州發佈暴雨橙色預警，並啟動防汛 4 級應急響應。
鄭州市區、新鄭、航空港區降雨量達 50 毫米以上，
暴雨期間市內多處水浸。 有隧道因排水不善堵塞，
水不斷由隧道上方湧出，形同瀑布，封閉的井蓋亦不斷噴水。
河南省有 15 座大中型水庫超出汛限水位， 氣象部門預報，
鄭州於往後一周，每天都有降雨，局部地區或將錄得 180 毫米以上雨量。
8 月 27 日，中國浙江杭州遭狂風暴雨侵襲，
風力高達 14 級，強度直逼鄭州大雨，場面相當嚇人，
暴雨伴隨狂風，大樹壓住汽車，現場比災難片還要恐怖！
杭州在短短 22 分鐘內，降雨量達 60.7 毫米，畫面堪稱瘋狂，
氣象站檢測的杭州降水強度，直逼氣象站小時雨量之最，
有資料顯示，其強度直逼 7 月份的鄭州暴雨，
社區地下車庫的車子全部泡水。
濱江區最大一小時降雨達 69.8 毫米，
大雨堵塞人們回家的道路，因積水嚴重，汽車只能艱難前行。
9 月 4 日傍晚，重慶豐都城區和多個鄉鎮，均出現強對流天氣，
遭遇 10 級大風， 城區多個路段和社區綠化樹木被吹斷，
有些大樹更被連根拔起，不少車輛被砸，
街上一片汪洋，幾乎可以行船，場面堪比末日大片！
無疑，於今年日華牧師生日期間，神再一次以大自然破紀錄的風災，
作為慶賀日華牧師生日的奇妙印證。
